Which price does LootSpectrum use?

Every valuation uses the cheapest current listing of the item on the market you chose in Settings, which is Skinport unless you change it. Prices are refreshed every day, and an item with no listing today has no price.
Step by step
- LootSpectrum values an item at its cheapest current listing, shown in the app as “cheapest listing”, for example in “Inventory value · Skinport cheapest listing”.
- It takes that price from the market you chose: Skinport by default, or another one under Settings, “Price source”.
- Prices are refreshed every day, and an item's price chart says so in its footer, for example “Skinport, daily cheapest listing, updated 7 Oct”.
- If an item has no listing today on your market, its “Unit” and “Value” show “—” and it adds nothing to a total.
Good to know
- The markets are Skinport, Steam, CSFloat, Tradeit and SkinBaron; Skinport is used unless you change it under Settings, “Price source”.
- A listing price is what a seller asks. It is not a sale price, and market fees are not deducted.
- Statistics that say “at today's prices” value old events the same way, at today's listing and not at the price on the day.
- “Today” means the current day in UTC.
- A wear with no listing falls back to the item's general price when there is one.
- Shortly after midnight UTC more items can show “—” until the first prices of the new day arrive.
- Another market may list an item that yours does not, so changing the price source can help, but it is not a guarantee.
- A total can also look low for other reasons; they are listed on the inventory value page.
Why does a price show “—” and my total look too low?
An item shows “—” when it has no listing today on your market. With no price it adds nothing to a total, so a total that includes such items is lower than the true worth of everything you hold.
This can happen to rare items, or briefly after midnight UTC before the day's first prices arrive. You can try another market under Settings, “Price source”, because other markets list different items. That helps in many cases but is not a guarantee.
Why is the price on an item page different from the one in my inventory?
Item pages compare all markets, including partner listings, and show the best price among them, always in euros, for the wear you picked. Your inventory uses the one market you chose in Settings, in your display currency, and prices each copy at its own wear.
Fees are not deducted in either place, so neither figure is what you would receive from a sale.
