What does “Net result” mean, and is it my real profit?

0:14 · no soundSupporter

Net result is Returned minus Spent, both at today's listing prices, with a flat cost added for each case key. It is an estimate of what your items are worth now, not cash profit.

Before you start

Step by step

  1. Open Statistics and look at “Net result, all time” on Overview, or at the “Net result” card on a section's tab.
  2. Read “Returned” as today's price of everything you received from openings, trade-ups and drops.
  3. Read “Spent” as today's price of what you gave up, such as the cases you opened or the input skins of a trade-up, plus 2,30 € for the key of every weapon-case opening.
  4. Subtract Spent from Returned: green means what came out is worth more today than what went in, red means less.
  5. Remember it is an estimate at listing prices: it uses neither the prices you paid or sold for, nor market fees.

Good to know

  • Returned is today's price of what you received from openings, trade-ups and drops.
  • Spent is today's price of what you gave up; for a trade-up that is the input skins.
  • Because both sides use today's prices, the number moves when prices move.
  • Case keys: every weapon-case opening adds a flat 2,30 € for its key, whatever the key really cost.
  • The key cost applies to weapon cases only, not to souvenir packages, capsules, trade-ups or drops.
  • Every opening is charged, whether or not its result has a price; key items you lost are not priced again.
  • A free account sees one real money line, “Key costs”, on the Cases tab and “keys ≈” under the Overview's “Spent”; it is a flat estimate and leaves out the cases themselves.
  • Armory passes are counted on the Armory tab, not in the Overview total.
  • The figure appears as “Net result, all time” on Overview, as each section's “Net result” card, in the “By section” table and in the “Then and now” table.
  • The percentage next to the all-time figure is the return on what was spent.
  • The other money figures, including Net result, are Supporter figures; a free account sees them as hatched placeholders with a note saying so. See the plans page for Supporter.

How are case keys counted?

Every weapon-case opening adds a flat 2,30 € to Spent for its key, whatever the key really cost you or would cost on the market. Souvenir packages, capsules, trade-ups and drops carry no key cost.

Every opening is charged, whether or not its result has a price today. Key items you lost are not priced a second time, so the key is not counted twice.

A free account sees this as the one real money line: “Key costs” on the Cases tab (openings × 2,30 €) and “keys ≈” under “Spent” on Overview. It is a flat estimate and leaves out the cases themselves.
